My research interests are web engineering, web performance, distributed systems, ubiqutus systems and data mining. I finished my PhD in 2012, and it was about the improvement of web caching techniques in Web 2.0 applications by the use of data mining techniques to adapt the fragments of content stored in the cache.
I'm currently teaching subjects in computer science, language programming and distributed systems. More concretally, the subjects are, in under-graduate studies, "Computer architecture" and "Distributed systems", and in post-graduate studies "Dynamic programming languages". I'm also completelly involved in the research projects in the field of teaching innovation. So, part of my research activities are focussed in improving the teaching methodology. I'm also the head of the Master Degree in Information Technologies of the Computer Science Department.
I have been involved in the deployment and development of several technological products, in colaboration with students, university colleagues and industry professionals. Examples of these products are Drupal modules, jMeter plugins, Firefox addons, LAMP web sites, etc.
