Carlos Guerrero is member of the architecture, performance, distributed systems, ambient intelligence and energy efficiency research group (ACSIC) in the Balearic Islands University
My research interests are cloud computing, fog computing, web engineering, web performance, distributed systems and data analysis. I finished my PhD in 2012, and it was about the improvement of web caching techniques in Web 2.0 applications by the use of data mining techniques to adapt the fragments of content stored in the cache.
I'm currently teaching subjects in cloud computing, digital systems, computer architecture and distributed systems. I'm also completelly involved in the research projects in the field of teaching innovation. So, part of my research activities are focussed in improving the teaching methodology. I'm also the deputy head of the of the Computer Faculty.
I have been involved in the deployment and development of several technological products, in colaboration with students, university colleagues and industry professionals. Examples of these products are Drupal modules, jMeter plugins, Firefox addons, LAMP web sites, etc. One of the most successful projects was the VespApp application (http://vespapp.uib.es).
